What I can offer your school?
Leaners with dyslexia and other neurodevelopmental disorders are readily impacted by low self esteem as a result of the frustrations they face on a day to day basis. Using my extensive experience, from working across the primary education phase, coupled with my in depth knowledge of SEND and the Specific Learning Difficulty dyslexia, I can help your staff support pupils more effectively.
Reflecting on my 15 years as a Headteacher and SENCO, I can work confidently with senior leaders, teachers and support staff to develop their understanding of dyslexia and SEND. My wealth of knowledge enables me to offer training sessions that are informative and filled with practical activities.
Training sessions and consultations ensure staff understand the principles of SEND and dyslexia before focusing on the importance of adaptation using multi-sensory learning to engage and support all learners, not just those with dyslexia. The sessions also ensure staff understand the value of overlearning to ensure new learning is retained.

Twilight Training
Twilight training is a popular option, where I can join your school team for a staff meeting lasting 1-2 hours.
INSET Days
I can facilitate INSET day training for whole or part of a day. Training on an INSET day often allows valuable time working with leaders, teachers and support staff together as one team.
1:1 Consultation with SENCO
A 1:1 meeting with your SENCO can be facilitated to develop their understanding of SEND and dyslexia. Through this consultation, I can help SENCOs, especially those new in role, identify SEND and dyslexic tendencies in learners at an earlier stage, so that intervention can take place sooner.
